Education
Mission Statement
The education committee implements educational programming, sponsorship and support to assistant collegiate members of the fraternity as well as community youth, resulting in quality assistance, mentorship, guidance and development, educational advancement, as well as financial support for academic pursuit.
Goals for 2011
The education committee is committed to programs implemented in conjunction with Phi Beta Sigma’s internationally branded program of Sigma Wellness. It is the goal of the committee, in addition to continuing to provide volunteer support to local activities, to also implement locally programs that support the international brand.
The education committee also interfaces with the Iota Nu Sigma COLLEGIATE ADVISORY COUNCIL. The Council consists of the advisors, appointed by the chapter president, who work with the collegiate chapters in the Chicagoland area assigned to us by the Regional and State Directors:
- Bro. Kashi Iribhogbe is the Advisor to the Chicago State University chapter, Alpha Alpha Beta;
- Bro. Daniel Jean is the Advisor to the Chicago City-wide collegiate chapter, Iota Alpha;
- Bro. AnDre McKinstry is the Advisor to the Northwestern University collegiate chapter, Iota Nu;
Through combined communication, meetings, and sharing of best practices, Iota Nu Sigma provides mentoring to the collegiate chapters, training, information sharing, and program support.
